Big Changes

I don't deal with change that well, so when I was offered a new job, I gave it A LOT of thought!

(This is what I'll be sellin'!)

I was approached last October by one of the medical reps I see a lot in the O.R. about working with him for a company called Zimmer. They're an orthopaedic company that supplies instruments and implants for total hip and knee replacement surgeries. Truth be told, I never wanted to be a rep. I always knew them as shmoozing suck-ups and I didn't want to be like that. However, this guy is completely different, so this offer coming from him really made me think. And seriously, that's all I did for the past 4 months. We had a lot of discussions over the past months and I came to the conclusion that I needed to at least try this out. I could always go back to scrubbing. Although I was really sad to not be scrubbing into surgery anymore, but I'll still be in the O.R., just in a different role. And I was sad to leave my co-workers who have become some of my best friends. But luckily, I'll be able to see them still because I'd stay at the same hospital with this company. Anyway, long story short, I accepted the offer and I started with them March 1. And so far, so good! I don't think the last two weeks are typical of what my day to day will look like, but it's been really nice to have a change. It freaks me out still, but I feel good about it overall. It's exciting!

It'll be pretty weird not being scrubbed anymore. Hopefully this won't be the last time though:)
