I met up with two of my favorite roommates from back in the day at Ricks/BYU-I. Katie, Erica and I met up in Idaho Falls for a great little reunion. I love it that we can still get together and be ourselves 9 years later. I had so much fun living with these girls. Best college year ever!
September also brought about a little birthday celebration. Mine! I turned 27!! Wowsers! I went home to Pocatello for a few days to celebrate with my family. They made it a fantastic birthday. We had a great bbq my dad cooked up, and I also got my delicious Costco cake I requested. I LOVE that stuff. It really was a great day, even though I hesitate to mention my age nowadays. What do you do? I guess just enjoy it!
The end of summer also brings an event that is somewhat a tradition for the Lunceford family. The Eastern Idaho State Fair is the greatest place to eat your face off, walk those calories off, people-watch, ride kiddie rides(because I don't do big kid rides), watch the cow-penning and team roping, hypnotists...the list goes on and on. It didn't disappoint this year either!
Talk about spontaneous! I was truly proud of myself for this stunt. I was a little sad I wasn't going to the biggest game of the season for my Boise State Broncos against the Oregon Ducks. But I had accepted it. The day of the game, I was on Facebook and a guy I knew back in Boise posted that a guy in his group bailed, so he had an extra ticket for a quite reasonable price. I toyed with the idea and then I really started to think how I could really pull this off. I was at work, it was 11:00, I get off work at 3:00 and the game started at 8:15. I thought I would be cutting it close, but it was do-able. So between trying to actually work at work(go figure) and pleading my case with the charge nurse to give me the next day off, I was talking to my friend telling him to hold my ticket! I think the Bronco gods were smiling down upon me that day, because it all worked out! I may have exceeded the speed limit a little to get there, but I was in hopes that if I did get pulled over, an Idaho cop might be a Bronco fan and have a heart. Luckily it didn't come to that! I met up with some old friends I always used to go to the games with and I stayed with my good friend April. I'd like to believe the win had something to do with my being there, or maybe they're just a great team. Either way, it was SO great to be at the Blue Turf again!
Lately my great friends from work and I have been gathering at delicious restaurants across the Salt Lake Valley to celebrate fun occasions and just to be in good company. I love my friends! What would I do without them?! I feel so lucky to work with people who are also amazing friends. How often does that really happen?
We've done a lot of camping this summer too. One of my favorite things, I would say...
Mesa Falls in Idaho
